One softgel of NuaEPA®1200 contains approximately 93% omega-3, of which more than 90% is EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid).

What are the key benefits associated to EPA?

The greatest benefits associated to EPA, and endorsed by the EFSA, are:

• DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure. The EFSA itself established that this beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3000mg of EPA and DHA.
• DHA and EPA also contribute to maintain normal levels of triglycerides in the bloodstream. The beneficial effect is obtained with the daily intake of 2000mg of EPA and DHA.
• DHA and EPA contribute to the wellbeing and normal function of the heart. The beneficial effect can be obtained with a daily intake of 250mg of EPA and DHA.

Although both DHA and EPA have cardiovascular benefits, EPA acts more effectively in these areas, since it lowers LDL (‘bad’) cholesterol and is also very effective in lowering triglycerides.  On the other hand, at an anti-inflammatory level, it is a great support in cases of people who have chronic inflammatory processes.

Indications and Instructions for use

1-3 daily softgels, always with food.

Some recommended uses for this format are:

• Nutritional reinforcement in the cardiovascular area: Of special interest in adult life, where an unrecoverable deterioration of cardiovascular health takes place (e.g. increase in triglycerides, cholesterol, etc.). 1 softgel per day.
• Nutritional reinforcement in the joint and bone area: Appealing for women in menopause, to protect their bones from osteoporosis, as well as in people who, due to their lifestyle or circumstances, have severely punished their muscles and /or joints. 1 softgel per day.

Notes: i) its use in children (<6 years) is not recommended, except on the recommendation of a qualified professional; ii) if you are under treatment with anticoagulant therapies, it is recommended to limit the dose to 2 softgels daily and maintain adequate analytical control of coagulation.

• Nutritional support in neuropsychiatric diseases (e.g. bipolar disease, schizophrenia, etc.) 2 softgels per day.
• Nutritional support in athletes: numerous sports that involve intense physical activity (e.g. tennis, soccer, skiing, basketball, etc.) involve significant joint and muscle wear. Taking EPA will support these areas, being therefore a support nutrient of great interest.
